Module 3 Discussion: The Five Senses, PSYC 1310, Concorde College

Question

Module 3 Discussion: The Five Senses

Description:

"Psychologists are keenly interested in our senses because they are our mind's window to the outside world. We're equally interested in how our mind perceives and interprets the information it receives from the senses" (Huffman, Dowdell, & Sanderson, 2018, p. 117).

Instructions:

Step 1: Respond to the following prompt:

  • From a personal perspective, which sense is most important to you—smell, taste, skin senses, vestibular sense, or kinesthetic sense? Of these sensations, which would you least like to lose? Why?

Step 2: Read other students' posts and respond to at least two other students. Incorporate personal experience, if appropriate, to help support or debate other students' posts. If differences of opinion occur, debate the issues and provide examples to support opinions.

In your responses to your peers’ posts, be concrete, make suggestions for change, including strategies, movements, obstacles, and so forth. Outside-the-box thinking and debate is encouraged.

The use of outside resources (your textbook or other academic source) is required. Be sure to cite any outside sources in current APA format.

Due Date:

  • Initial posts must be submitted by due date. Subsequent replies are due by the end of the week (see Course Policies and Procedures or your Instructor for details).

Grading:

  • Be certain to review the rubric to ensure that you are fulfilling the requirements.
