Week 4: Looking back and looking forward

[You will need to write more than a couple of sentences to earn these points. Visit here to see the discussion board guidelines and posting times]

In Chapter 15, the question was asked, “What predictions do you have for the future of water resources use, development, and conservation?” Great question!

Look around, how might our past actions impact us today and into the future? What can we learn from chapter 1? Can we benefit from water engineering used for water supply and drainage at Machu Picchu or the qanat systems in Iran?

Now you’ve read about the early hydropower development in chapter 1, spend a few minutes to learn a little about a current hydropower project - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEqZu3Nr3Q8&t=298s (Links to an external site.)

And finally, browse these 2 websites http://water.org/ (Links to an external site.) and http://rsr.akvo.org/projects/all/ (Links to an external site.) to see small, local water projects taking place around the world.

What’s happening? What do you think the most likely scenario is for our collective water future? (As always, substanciate your response with one or more "credible" sources; no wiki citations!). Also, for credit, place your responses in the correct folder/area. Contribute to A (worth 8 points), B (worth 8 points) and C (worth 4 points) below:
