Question

Discussion Questions:

Refer to page 192 of your text, the Pause for Reflection Activity.

"Can you identify other ways in which your own conscious or unconscious biases, values, or “smelly shoes” might cause you to experience your client inaccurately? For instance, what if you have strong biases for or against tattoos or body piercing? Could those biases, if unexamined, cause you to make judgments about young (or old) clients in ways that are blatantly inaccurate?" (Sommers-Flanagan & Sommers-Flanagan, 2007, p. 192).
