In this activity, you will participate in a discussion about revisions.
Objectives:
Instructions:
Step 1: Reflect on your own process of editing and proofreading and respond to the following:
How do you evaluate your writing during the editing and proofreading stages? For example, do you read your writing aloud, listening for awkward constructions or word choices? Do you use the editing features in your word processing program or other online editing tools? Do you print out your writing to edit and proofread on hard copy? Do you read your work to a classmate before finalizing a draft? Do you get help from a writing tutor or consult other resources? How do you edit and proofread the details of your writing while staying focused on the big picture?
Step 2: Read other students' posts and respond to at least two other students. Incorporate personal experience, if appropriate, to help support or debate other students' posts. If differences of opinion occur, debate the issues and provide examples to support opinions.
In your responses to your peers’ posts, be concrete, make suggestions for change, including strategies, movements, obstacles, and so forth. Outside-the-box thinking and debate is encouraged.
Be sure to cite any outside sources in current APA format.
